Background Information

Most democrats and left-leaning people agree that abortion should be a human right. Doctors and other healthcare professionals also agree that abortion is a right for medical reasons. Some benefits of having completely legal abortions in the US are that the amount of kids in the foster system will reduce and abortions will be safer. Criminalizing abortions will never stop them, it just makes them unsafe. Many republicans and conservatives think that abortion is murder. They believe that by aborting a fetus, it kills a baby. They also think that the Bible does not agree with abortion. However, the Bible never mentions the word “abortion” in any form. I live in a very right-leaning state, and after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court, a trigger law to criminalize abortion except to save the life of the mother was signed. If I and other women continue to grow up and live here, we will not be able to get safe and effective abortions without fear of being prosecuted.
